Animal Welfare League NSW Manly, Warringah & Pittwater branch
The volunteers at this non profit organization are dedicated to the welfare of animals. Cats and kittens can be adopted from this organization. There is a free animal advisory service from 9 – 11am, 7 days a week. Just ask for Peggy Brown.
Sydney Dogs and Cats Home is a registered charity and takes in lost, stray and abandoned cats as well as dogs for 11 Sydney metropolitan councils. All animals brought into the shelter are kept for 7 days if they are not micro chipped and 14 days if they are and every effort is made to find their owners. Those who are not lucky enough to be returned to their owners are assessed for their suitability for re-homing. There are rarely less than 35 cats at any one time in the shelter waiting for new forever homes and this number increases dramatically in kitten season when there can be sometimes double this amount.
Visit the website at www.sydneydogsandcatshome.org to see all the gorgeous cats available for adoption. Open 7 days a week 9.00am to 1.00pm.
This organization was first formed in 1968 and has since developed a solid membership of dedicated cat lovers and breeders. FCCWA is affiliated with the Australian Cat Federation Inc. and distributes a quarterly magazine Catcall.
